9/18/2023 0 Comments H20 season 2![]() ![]() The Beautiful Elite: This show is a pretty bad offender of this.Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: A sisterly version between Cleo and Kim occasionally shows up throughout the series. This trope turns a conversation between Cleo, Emma, and Rikki into an info dump for Charlotte, who's eavesdropping. As You Know: Two minutes into the season 2 premiere Kim reminds her sister that their parents have now split up, for the audience's benefit.Anything else you do is just you wanting to hurt someone. ![]() This likely has to do with it being a Post-Script Season.Įmma: We've made a fool of him. Compared to the finales of the two prior seasons, it's something of a let-down, and a lot of plot threads are ultimately never resolved. How do the girls defeat it? By using their powers to create an artificial water tentacle in the moon pool, and somehow deflect the comet's path with it. Anti-Climax: The Series Finale raises the stakes significantly, with a comet that threatens to wipe out all life on Earth.Elliott, Emma's brother, is an aversion as he is usually nice, friendly and 'squeaky clean' (Rikki's words). Annoying Younger Sibling: Cleo's younger sister Kim is a rather extreme case.Alpha Bitch: Miriam is not a nice person.Bella in the third season also has three powers, as she was alone in her moon pool. When Charlotte becomes a mermaid, she gains all three of the powers because she is the only one in the pool. All Your Powers Combined: The powers will be divided by those in the moon pool when it's active during the full moon.Averted with characters like Miss Chatham and Max, who have experienced the mermaid problems and offer helpful advice to the girls.Particularly noteworthy is Cleo's father, who fails to notice how little Cleo likes Charlotte, and does nothing to rein in Kim's brattiness. Adults Are Useless: And clueless and easily distracted, and readily accept some really bizarre excuses with no question.Actually, That's My Assistant: Zane initially assumes that Greg is Dr.A short-lived Animated Adaptation, H₂O: Mermaid Adventures, is also available on Netflix. A spinoff series, Mako Mermaids: An H₂O Adventure, is available on Netflix. There were initially going to be only two seasons, but due to popular demand a third season was added, with several of the characters missing and a new girl, Bella, added to replace Emma. Shiff, it’s mostly about the girls' powers and dealing with them in real life. The story focuses on three friends who gain magical powers over water and after a trip to the mysterious Mako Island, turn into mermaids following "The Splash Method" (when they are wet they turn into mermaids, and when they are dry they aren't) after swimming in a magical pool during a full moon.Ĭreated by Jonathan M. Even kids know that people kiss, there's nothing wrong with that at all.H₂O: Just Add Water is an Australian live-action series for preteen-to-teenage girls that has been shown in North America on Nickelodeon and TeenNick as simply H₂O. Not at all worth the "sexy stuff" rating. Really light and very enjoyable entertainment to enjoy with your young pre-teens.Ī few scenes have the occasional kiss but it's really very tame compared to other things kids see these days, absolutely nothing to worry about. We've watched the entire series twice now, along with its spin off show Mako Mermaids. The storylines are a tad predictable but that was half the fun for us, pausing to share our predictions on what we think might happen next. We had high hopes for Zane to have some character growth and become a more mature guy in season 3 but he doesn't and is the same old immature jerk unfortunately for Rikki. Lewis is hands down my favourite character and sometimes we think the girls are a bit mean to him, given he is always only ever trying to help them, their meanness can be a bit uncalled for.Ĭharlotte is the absolute worst but kudos to the actor who played her as she does a great job making you hate her character. It is a great example of the importance of friendships and trust in young girls. My almost 11 year old daughter and I just love watching this show!! It is a feel good series that brings out the inner mermaid in all of us (let's be real, who didn't pretend they turned into a mermaid the second they jumped into water?!) ![]()
